Ahh finally some time to relax. These past couple of weeks have been so busy due to the holidays, work and settling into my dad’s new place. It seems like its been forever since I’ve had some time just to sit down and slow down from all of the business that is life. It’s really sad because many of us fly through life so fast that there really isn’t time in care focused on living in the moment and cherishing it to it’s fullest.

This last month has been a very automated time for me. It started on a normal day with getting up around noon to three pm, then doing some chores, eating, going to work, eating dinner and then coming home from work around three to four am. It just got dull and tiring after a while. It was hard to give guest the kind of service that they deserve and expect however I pushed through. My last night working till next Friday was last night in which an older couple came up to me and in the middle of helping them, the wife told me that I had been one of the most delightful people they had dealt with that night. She continued that unfortunately the rest of the cast hadn’t been so pleasant to her and her husband. I really was pleased to hear that I had made her night special and as I always say the best part of my job is being able to make a difference. It’s good to know that even though they may have not had a great experience earlier, they left knowing that they’re really were people there that had their best interests at heart. I encourage everyone else to go make that difference too. It does not take allot of time of energy. Sometimes it just takes being friendly and letting someone feel special and cared for. You don’t have to be special or necessarily do anything special to make magic… You just have to be different and treat someone with kindness. Even after being so against working another big hour week, I felt as though I could not wait to go back but unfortunately I had other tasks.

Today I have been feverishly working on my chapel makeups that i was planning on turning in this morning but unfortunately will have to turn in on Tuesday. No sweat though because I have plenty done. It’s really brought me back though to settling down and being able to ponder over my maker. I’m definitely excited over some of the ones I’ve listen to now and can’t wait til I’m driving in about five hours to Las Vegas through His beautiful creation. One final thing that really touched me today was that Joel Osteen was talking about how the people in your life will come and go. Sometimes you just need to let those people go becase it is God’s plan. Unfortunately this is so true but I owe it to myself to move on to bigger and better things…. and Lord I’m ready.

I just wanted to take a little bit of time to reflect upon the recent past and future. This has been a huge season of change in my life. Changes ranging from academics, career, family and friends. It seems as though so many things have been thrown at me all of the sudden but I don’t mind it at all.
The first would be regarding academics. My first semester was definitely a rough semester for me and so recovering from that has been a very interesting road filled both with successes and disappointments. I have done my best this semester to place me in a position so that I will be successful for this year and the rest of my education at Biola.
The next big change was that I went for a job at Disneyland. This was something that I’ve tried to pursue in the past and haven’t exactly been successful but I’m pretty sure that God opened this opportunity right now as it has been such a wonderful experience for me. I’ve learned so much from it like what it is like living off of

close to minimum wage. Also learning about such a magnificent company built by Walt Disney who had such a unique vision that is to this day such a magical place. Learning how to give great customer service has been the most rewarding and the best part of working at Disneyland.
The next two areas in my life have been so fluid lately. This semester was the first time that I had not lived with both of my parents. It is sad but it was good for everyone. I think. I still don’t feel like life has fully settled down in both arenas but its acceptable. The friends have also been such a unique situation in the past couple of months in which I’ve met so many new people and unfortunately will probably have to get rid of some (i though) pretty good and healing friendships. Apparently I was wrong and caught completely off guard.
Its definitely so ironic how things in life work but you learn so much from every good and unfortunate thing that passes by you. Right now I’m finishing getting settled into a new era of life and ready to Enjoy a wonderful Christmas with great family and friends, and a wonderful New Years.

So I started working at Disneyland just over five weeks now and I can tell you that I love it. It is so much fun to be able to leave customers with smiles on their faces and to know that they appreciated one of their last interactions there at Disneyland. I never really thought that much of all of the hard work and preperation that goes on behind the scenes there at the Disneyland Resort. It’s no wonder that it’s still exciting to go there even though I have been going there all my life and visited probably more than 100 times. I don’t think I could be working at a better job right now with such a great employer.

If you have an iPhone or an iPod Touch with 2.0 Software or later than you can enjoy the benefits of Biola University’s first configuration profile. This profile, when opened by your unit, will automatically install giving you seamless access to the BiolaSecure.AC network. This means that you <del datetime="2008-09-27T01:12:14+00:00">will not</del> still will have to log-in to Clean Access <del datetime="2008-09-27T01:12:14+00:00">or</del> but don’t have to use BiolaGUEST every time you want to use wifi. In order to install this profile go to the iPhone / Manual Setup page using you iPhone or iPod Touch. Then look on the righthand side where you will see a “Dowloads” box. Click on “login using your NetID“. Log-in using your netid and password and then follow the on screen instructions. It really couldn’t be easier. Way to go Biola! Hopefully they will add more features to the configuration profile like Bubbs e-mail or even create a cool app to access portal.

This post is dedicated to a film that, lately, has been really close to my heart… Step Brothers and an actor who undoubtedly is even closer… Will Ferrell. Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly work well together in this sometimes raunchy but very funny comedy. There are definitely parts with thick adult humor so it is not for the faint at heart. The irony of two grown men that in the beginning flaunt there immaturity but later on succeed when their parents separate. I would definitely recommend this for someone that does not mind some adult humor and language.

My favorite actor is definitely Will Ferrell with his unique comedy which is paralleled with no one. I love his dry humor and just his overall attitude while playing his roles. I was definitely impressed with this movie as I have not enjoyed some of his recent work too much, such as Talladega Nights or Semi-Pro. Both my mom and I definately laughed our heads off at this one. Good Job Will Ferrell. My favorite movie has to be Anchorman and I’m looking forward to getting that on Blu-ray but I enjoyed Step Brothers and I will admit that it is one movie that I will end up getting on Blu-ray.

I’ve had a very interesting experience buying my new 3G iPhone. Getting it has been a roller coaster ride from trouble porting to activating to trouble getting service to incompatible and poorly manufactured accessories. But now that things have finally really settled down… Here is my story.

Magic Released

Since the World Wide Developers Conference in San Francisco, I’ve been really excited about the iPhone. It was exciting to see live updates via MacRumors.com right as Steve Jobs was announcing the new iPhone with all of its features during the conference. Since then I have been thinking about the new iPhone but it still just seemed implausible to switch since I was still under contract with Verizon and therefore I would have to pay a huge cancellation fee.

However in the final days leading up to the release of the new iPhone 3G, I was sold as I saw the iPhone 2.0 OS, especially all the cool apps up in iTunes in the app store and the introduction of mobile me. Seeing all these features I new that I would have to be apart of the new cell phone industry. As I see it Apple is doing amazing things to advance usability and customization in the cellphone industry so that technology will finally be fully compatible. The fact that you can install apps on a phone is truly amazing and opens the door to completely new horizons. I knew I couldn’t loose out of this shift from closed devices to customizable machines.

Night Before iPhone 3G

The night before Christmas the iPhone 3G I was drowned in suspense. I figured I would try to get a good nights sleep and then head over to the AT&T store early that morning. Forget that! There was no way that i was going to sleep with the iPhone on my mind. I finally got some sleep and then headed on over there early in the morning with my mom. We stood in line for a couple of hours until it started moving. It was an awesome experience from talking to the people around, getting free beverages to being solicited by non-wireless AT&T salespeople. My mom and I were about the hundredth person in line for the iPhone and around thirty minutes after the line started moving, a guy in front of us received a call from a buddy who was waiting at the local Apple store and was told that the stores network went down. My worst nightmare would have been if after all that waiting, a server error would have led to a delayed purchase. We also found out that even though he got there the same time, the line was double the size as ours.

Finally it was time to set foot through those doors and into a new experience. I made it. I finally had the wrapped iPhone box within reach. I figured this meant the complicated part was over and I couldn’t wait to finally hold my beautiful new phone. It seemed like the calm after the storm. There was no more waiting or the agonizing question of if I would even get a phone, I was set. But that was when we ran into problems adding my line to the account. For some odd reason they couldn’t just add me to an existing account but instead had to create a brand new one for me. This took around an hour for a process that should have taken 15 minutes. Then when they got the AT&T stuff straightened out, I found out that the iTunes activation was taking way too long and that I would have to do it all at home instead of at the store. This is what I was afraid of. Everything was all ready for me to activate and instantly use my iPhone but now that wasn’t a possibility because of an undervaluation made by Apple’s I.T. department. I would think that they would have a pretty idea of how many iPhones were going to be activated in each time zones before the launch and could have planned accordingly so it was back home for now.

All I was able to do at this point was plug my beautiful iPhone into my laptop and watch as the standard ‘plug your phone into iTunes’ picture came up. So I plugged it into iTunes and sadly but surely I could not do anything to my iPhone because the activation servers were overloaded. Finally a couple hours later my phone was activated and I had to wait an hour or so for everything to sync to my phone.

No Service

For the next few days i was carrying my iPhone with me everywhere and trying to use it as I pleased but I noticed that I wasn’t getting the service I should have. I would be walking around with ‘no service’ most of the day no matter where I went. My mom has another 3G phone and I compared signals and I might have 1 bar when it showed I had service when she would have full bars. The problem of having no service continued about everywhere I went. The phone should have at least defaulted back to EDGE if there was no obtainable 3G service. So finally I was like screw this, I’m going to the Apple store to see what was going on.

When we go to the Apple store there were a couple of lines. There was a line for getting the new iPhone and then there was even a line for just walking into the store so what I did was I went up to the guy in front of the store and demanded to speak to a manager. He in fact was a manager and I explained my situation and frustrations and he sent me back to the genius bar with priority. Basically that meant that he made me next in line for the Genius bar even though there were a bunch of people looking to be seen for iPods/mac/iPhones. After some paperwork and whatnot I walked out with a re manufactured new iPhone 3G and this one worked. I was so stoked! besides the part of all my data being on the old one and having no data on the new one but that fix was only a sync away.

Inaccessible Accessories

The next big failure, I believe, on the behalf of the iPhone 3G is that many of the old accessories that used to work in charging an iPod don’t because of a changed electrical configuration. This may not seem like a big deal but it is because I had an FM Transmitter from Griffin Technologies that worked wonders but then I couldn’t use it anymore because it wouldnt charge my new iPhone. i figured the thing to do would be to get a new FM transmitter which would probably have more features and stronger signal but I was definitely wrong. I tried a couple FM transmitters from Griffin and Belkin and they were completely worthless. They were horrible products. I guess maybe I should be more lenient because i live close to the Los Angeles area where every channel has something on it but i found that even when driving in the middle of nowhere, these devices were worthless. There were times however when it would sound perfect. It seemed as though if my left hand was on the steering wheel a certain way and if I had the iPhone in a certain place and then transmitter in another pointed a specific way then it worked great. But Come On! The transmitter I got year ago worked a heck of a lot better than either. If I plugged one of the new ones in and played music it would be all static and some of the music I was playing. However if I kept one of the new ones plugged in and then plugged my old one in, the old one would trump the new transmitters signal and would sound crystal clear. Eventually I just turned to buying a VAIS Technology modulator into my car which just sounds absolutely amazing and is not comparable.

The Down Low

So far since then I have not had too many issues. Its true the apps do crash occasionally and the 3G reception is less than desirable especially at my house where I have resigned to EDGE. There have been some significant billing issues due to AT&T’s inability to get things straightened out when we first purchased the phone but that has been worked out. The only other big issue I have run into was when I updated from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2, something happened during the update which corrupted my iPhone so that I had to fully restore it. In the middle of that process the 2.0.2 update was having trouble re-downloading because our Time Warner Cable wasn’t stable that night which led me without a phone for a day. For a while there I thought I had an iBrick and I that I wouldn’t be able to restore it at all and have to give AT&T or Apple hell for a new one.

In all I have been very pleased with my iPhone purchase. I think the benefits outweigh the costs and I really do enjoy using my phone even though my parents don’t see the necessity for it. I don’t think I would go back and do anything any differently except for seek out assistance sooner when my phone had no signal. I definitely think my phone allows me to be more productive and I’m glad that I got to be one of the first to experience to new age or revolution in the cell phone industry.

A new feature that RapidVPS has more recently announced is they have started hosting Windows 2003/2008 VPS packages. They have just recently warmed up to Windows hosting but have been hosting Linux servers for many years. Since these packages are new, not all of the features that come with Linux hosting such as automatic OS reloads or backups are available. Still they promise to do their best to give you the best support they can. Which I may add is why I love RapidVPS. They have great support that will help anyone from the more novice blogger to the more advanced programmer. I also love how they have a commitment to great service and reliability and they work hard to release great new features all the time. Thanks Rapid VPS!
It crossed the Colorado Rockies in December, endured the Palm Springs summer, and basked in the beachfront Easter breezes of Newport Beach. Now, after a period of inactivity, it is available for travel or inexpensive living. The engine recently passed the California Emissions check without incident and there are no known problems with the engine and transmission. The motorhome has less than 55,000 miles. A list of features appears below.

Some maintenance and service is required. The tires need to be replaced due to age. The generator needs service, an electrical malfunction in the instrument panel needs diagnosis, the hydraulic jacks need adjustment, the brake power assist unit needs to be checked, and some other issues need attention. The motorhome will be sold as is, so buyer needs to evaluate the condition of the motorhome before making an offer.

The motorhome must be sold, so all offers will be considered.

There is nothing better than hauling your equipment on a beautiful trailer that catches everyone’s attention. This trailer is equipped with many nice custom options such as running lights and loading lights. Flip a switch in the toolbox and you can load up your equipment in the middle of the night. You can rear-load 2 ATVs with the tailgate or side-load 3 ATVs. Just pop the sidebar down and roll your quad up the aluminum ramps. There is a roomy carpeted locking utility box that is available for all of your storage needs. For your convenience there is a spare tire mounted underneath the utility box in case you encounter a flat. There is a gas rack to hold all the fuel you need for your trip. 2 30′ heavy duty plastic coated steel safety cables are included to secure your precious equipment to the trailer. Whether it is taking your ATVs out to the desert or up in the mountains or parading your motorcycle around, this trailer will more than satisfy your needs.

Condition:
Beautiful red trailer with shiny diamond cut aluminum floors. The paint has encountered tiny imperfections over the years but still looks beautiful.
